Electric Paper has been a market-leading supplier of survey and exam software for over 20 years, with 1000 customers worldwide (two-thirds of whom are Education Institutions).
Established in 1996 in Lüneburg, Germany, Electric Paper has grown year-on-year and now has over 60 employees in both Germany, Switzerland and the UK. Electric Paper is an international company with partnerships in the USA, Canada, Australia, South Africa and continental Europe. Group turnover is €5.75m per annum
Electric Paper has two main products – EvaSys and EvaExam.
- EvaSys Surveys transform the way an institution conducts module and programme evaluation. Fully web-based, it supports paper and online surveys natively. EvaSys drives high response rates, provides powerful and flexible reporting for all stakeholders, and enables contextualisation and comparison through the National Module Benchmarking service. A focus on supporting online surveys includes an Instructor Portal for in-class evaluation for Module Leaders; tools to Close the Student Feedback Loop; redaction and sentiment analysis of free-text comments; a portal for department/faculty/institution survey process management and aggregate reporting; and API and LTI integration.
- EvaExam supports student assessment and examinations, improving the automation and management of exams, driving efficiency in capturing examinations and distributing results. Institutions use EvaExam to conduct large-scale paper-based and online examinations through a highly scalable web-based solution. EvaExam can reduce marking from days to hours, and provide marks to students far more quickly
The key to the company’s success has been the involvement of our customers in product design, development and innovation, and through delivering high quality training, customer service and support.
Through its wholly owned subsidiary Electric Paper Ltd, Electric Paper Evaluationssysteme GmbH has a UK office (staff based in Edinburgh and London) providing dedicated account, implementation, training and customer support to clients across the UK and Ireland, supported by the support, development, technical and training teams in Germany.
Over 70 Universities within the UK and Ireland (including 10 Russell Group) are using either EvaSys and/or EvaExam. A particular focus in the last 3 years has been the ongoing development of functions and features to support online evaluation (mimicking as closely as possible the traditional approach to hardcopy surveys), to close the feedback loop to students, and to harvest insights from the data captured (with a particular focus on harvesting in-depth insights from qualitative data).
Electric Paper UK’s Managing Director has worked within Universities for over 24 years, including 14 years heading Student Systems at a large Russell Group University. He has significant experience within HE institutions of managing surveys, survey systems and processes (including EvaSys), and integration of downstream and upstream systems. He brings an HE perspective to delivery of the services, with a particular focus on ever-improving service levels and responsiveness.
